Las Vegas is the city to be in if you’re a poker player of some caliber. This is where people go to if they want to see, breathe, and live poker; most of the memorable milestones in the history of the game, such as the establishment of the World Series of Poker tournament, were conceived in this gambling mecca.

It comes to no surprise then that the best poker rooms in the world would be found here. Here are a few of our favorites:

Aria

Read Las Vegas poker room reviews online and you’ll see that there’s a general consensus of approval for Aria’s poker room. The highlight of the place is its excellent service, with players usually receiving a $40 food comp during a game session. There is a wide range of players from different skill sets here, so you can find casual wide-eyed tourists and seasoned card sharks playing at any one time. Lots of tables and play variety everywhere to keep everyone interested.

Bellagio

If you want to see the likes of Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, and Jenn Harman, then go to Bellagio. This is the end-all, be-all of high-limit poker in the city, and the famous Bobby’s Room can be found here. But don’t be afraid of testing the waters though; you’ll find a lot of tourists and casual players inside. If you’re a decent player, you can easily turn a night of gaming at the Bellagio into a fairly productive one. High-limit players get great food comps here.

Venetian

One of the most spacious poker rooms in the city at 11,000 square feet. The non-smoking card room houses 39 tables with seven tables dedicated to high-stakes poker. There are also plenty of Texas Hold’em and no-limit games. The ambiance is pretty laid back, and if you’re looking for a place in which you can build up your bankroll, Venetian will be your best bet.

Binions

Binions is for those who want to wax nostalgic over the place where poker history was made. This is the hotel where the World Series of Poker was first hosted. The poker room is quite old, but there are plenty of tables (70, overall) and Limit Hold’em (starting at $2/4) games. Seasoned poker players and locals also say that the place hosts some of the best daily tournaments in the city.

The Mirage

This is the perfect starting place for newbies who want to make it into the world of professional poker. Plenty of no-limit and limit Hold’em games, with some tables starting out at $3/6. Since the poker room is located at the center of the casino, there’s plenty of traffic while you’re playing. This can be a bane to those who like a more laid-back ambiance, but pretty exciting to those who love having an audience watch while the play. A word of warning for non-smokers: while the poker room is smoke free, the rest of the casino isn’t. Make sure you can tolerate the smell of smoke when you’re playing here.
