In this article we take a look at some of the biggest poker winners in the world in the past year.

John Juanda

Going by the nickname of Luckbox, John Juanda lives in Marina Del Rey in California in the United States. On current statistics he has placed first in a poker tournament twenty five times, plus he also holds five World Series of Poker bracelets. There’s obviously lots of different variations of poker, Juanda’s favourite is Texas Hold’em. It’s estimated that Juanda’s career winnings are around USD$15 million.

Michael Mizrachi

Living in Florida in the United States, Mizrachi’s nickname is The Grinder. He has placed first in at least twenty times and holds three World Series of Poker bracelets. Mizrachi’s favourite version of poker is Texas Hold’em. Mizrachi has career winnings of over USD$14 million.

Martin Jacobson

A resident of Stockholm in Sweden, Jacobson is a relatively new face on the international poker circuit. He has placed first in three poker tournaments, and holds one World Series of Poker bracelet. While he may not have been around as long as some of his peers, Jacobson is already a big winner, with over USD$15 million in prize-winnings to his name.

Phil Hellmuth

Nicknamed The Poker Brat, Hellmuth lives in Palo Alto in California in the United States. He has placed first in poker tournaments twenty-five times, and holds 13 World Series of Poker bracelets. Hellmuth’s career winnings are estimated to be over USD$16 million.

Phil Ivey

With the nickname of The Tiger Woods of Poker (probably because he looks a little bit like Tiger Woods), Ivey lives in Las Vegas in Nevada. He has placed first in poker tournaments twenty-five times and holds 10 World Series of Poker bracelets. Ivey’s favourite version of poker is No Limit Texas Hold’em. Estimates indicate that Ivey’s career winnings total around USD$20 million.

Sam Trickett

Trickett’s nickname is Tricky and he lives in East Retford in Nottingham in the United Kingdom. He’s only placed first in nine poker tournaments, but he has amassed some impressive winnings, estimated to be around USD$20 million.

Erik Seidel

Seidel lives in Las Vegas in Nevada in the United States and is nicknamed The Seaborg. He has placed first in 23 poker tournaments and holds eight World Series of Poker bracelets, with his career winnings estimated to be around USD$21 million.

Daniel Colman

Daniel Colman lives in Holden in Massachusetts in the United States. He has placed first in four poker tournaments and holds one World Series of Poker bracelet. Compared to his peers, Colman’s career winnings are around USD$200K but he seems to be building momentum and is definitely a talent to watch.

Antonio Esfandiari

Nicknamed The Magician, Esfandiari lives in Las Vegas in Nevada in the United States. He has placed first in six poker tournaments and holds three World Series of Poker bracelets. Esfandiari is a big winner with career earnings estimated to be around USD$25 million.
